HAY St Marys swept into the fourth round of the Central Wales Challenge Cup with a resounding 8-0 win at Penybont.

The Saints never looked back after Jack Biggs headed them into an early lead and Ryan Davies and Tom James made it three by half-time. Hay continued to dominate after the break with James going on to complete a hat-trick, his third coming from the penalty spot, while Adi Lawford, Steve Morgan and Matty Tong were also on target.

Hay were pleased to return to action after an enforced months break and the win sets them, up nicely for this week-ends Spar Mid Wales League Division One clash at Llandrindod Wells.

In the next Round of the Central wales Cup, The Saints will now travel to Aberystwyth University after the students beat Montgomery Town 3-1 at home.

Tom Penberthy and a double from Rian Devlin in the first half clinched it for The University side while Montgomery scored and missed a penalty.

Kerry switched their tie to Newtown’s artificial surface and overcame Llanilar 4-0 thanks to Luke Mumford (2), Jordan Morris and Nick Mumby.
