LLANDRINDOD Wells entertained Borth United in the 3rd round of the Central Wales Challenge Cup with the Broadway pitch having passed an early inspection. Both teams quickly adapted to the soft surface from the start and Borth nearly took the lead within two minutes as Ryan Edwards’s rising shot was only inches over the crossbar. But the hosts did take the lead on fifteen minutes when Stuart Williams scored from the penalty spot after being brought down in the box. Borth responded well and Ryan Edwards’s low shot from outside the area beat keeper Andy Leonard for the equalizer. Llandridnod restored the one goal lead when Rhys Davies put the the Wellmen back in front by scoring with a cool finish passed keeper Alex Pennock. Llandrindod added to their tally when Kejan Foryzewski scored with a low shot to give the hosts a 3-1 interval lead. Llandrindod took the tie away from Borth on the hour as Shane Pritchard weaved his way into the penalty area and cooly beat Alex Pennock at the near post for the hosts to progress to the fourth round of the competition.
