Following last year’s success, the World Enduro Championship returns to Mid Wales this coming weekend for the Forsiteservices Enduro GP of Wales.
The event is hosted by Rhayader Motor Cycle & Light Car Club in partnership with Saintswell Events, with activities based at Cwmythig Hill and Saintswell Enduro Centre.
Riders from across Europe, the USA, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico and Chile will descend on the market town once again for round four of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship. Series leader Josep Garcia of Spain headlines the entry list, alongside French rider Zach Pichon and Italy’s Andrea Verona.
Sadly, Britain’s top riders Steve Holcombe and Brad Freeman are sidelined through injury, but Nathan Watson and Jamie McCanney will be aiming to keep British hopes alive with podium finishes.
A host of local riders will also be in action, including Rhayader’s Alex Walton, Llanidloes’ Rees Jones, Sam Davies of Llandrindod Wells, Jack Probert of Penybont, Kris Price of Crossgates, and Sam Hughes of Oswestry.

To help deliver a high-quality event, the Enduro GP of Wales will be supported by a range of local and national enduro clubs and volunteers.
The action-packed event runs from Friday, August 1 to Sunday, August 3, with competitors tackling a 200-mile route over the weekend. The Paddock, Super Test and Cross Test will all be based at Cwmythig Hill near Rhayader, with tracks and forestry routes linking to the Saintswell Enduro Centre, where the Extreme and Enduro Tests will take place.
The event features three days of competition, beginning with the Super Test on Friday evening at Cwmythig Hill. On Saturday and Sunday, the world’s top riders will take on two full days of enduro racing.
Bringing the World Championship back to the UK comes at a significant cost, with major investment in new infrastructure at Cwmythig and Saintswell to meet international standards, alongside essential organisational costs such as live timing and medical cover. Despite exploring grant and funding options, the event remains around 95 per cent self-funded. To help make the GP a success, the event will be ticketed. Tickets are priced to offer excellent value and include full access to the Paddock, entertainment at Cwmythig, the Super Test, and all three special tests.
The event kicks off on Thursday evening at 6:30pm, when the historic market town of Rhayader hosts a procession of riders, culminating in an autograph session at Rhayader Smithfield.
On Friday, the action moves to Cwmythig Hill, with the official opening ceremony at 5pm followed by the Super Test at 6pm. Trade stands and catering will be available throughout the evening, along with musical entertainment starting at 8pm.
Saturday and Sunday feature two full days of competition, beginning at 9am. Spectator areas for the special tests will be located at both Cwmythig Hill and Saintswell, with a new shuttle bus service running between the two venues for a small charge. Each day concludes at Cwmythig Hill with podium presentations at around 4pm.
Don’t miss out on the action – tickets are still available. Support the event by purchasing yours at www.endurogp.wales, where you’ll also find more information about the weekend schedule, venue access, and what to expect across all three days.
Remember to pick up your souvenir programme or event merchandise at the venues.
