A local activity centre’s headquarters has received an impressive makeover thanks to a talented mural artist.

Caerphilly based artist, Paul Shepherd, known by his business title and social media handle Walls by Paul, recently made a trip to Black Mountain Adventure’s headquarters in Three Cocks.

Paul brought images taken from Black Mountain Adventure’s activities to life by painting them on the walls of the building.

The long building now displays a highly impressive mural of the centre’s customers and instructors gorge walking, canoeing, mountain biking, rock climbing, caving, zip lining, and paddle boarding, as well as featuring the company logo on the main wall.

After seeing his work on Instagram of a mural of a miner on a Bed and Breakfast, Hayley Lagerweij and the Black Mountain team tracked down Paul and after a few months Paul finally found a gap in his busy schedule to carry out the work.

Daughter to owners Ann and Carl Durham, and key team member for Black Mountain Adventure, Hayley said: “It's hard to believe this is the same building! What was once a blank wall has been transformed into a stunning piece of art that perfectly captures the adventure, fun and excitement we offer here at Black Mountain Adventure.

“Paul from Walls by Paul has done an outstanding job, creating something that's not only eye-catching but creates a warm, welcoming entrance that we're incredibly proud of. It has given the building a real identity and has become a real talking point for our visitors, with many stopping to take photos in front of it before they head home.

“We're so grateful for Paul's creativity and hard work. Thank you for helping us create something that our visitors can enjoy and remember long after their adventure has finished."

On a Facebook post about the walls, Paul said due to the very heavy roughcast finish of the wall’s surface, he decided to go for a lower detail more graphic artstyle for better clarity.

Some of Paul’s most recognisable work includes a tribute wall mural to Ozzy Osbourne, his murals in Blaenau Gwent and most recently a Toy Story themed painting that has gone viral on social media.
