The 2026 Young British Farming Awards are officially open for entries and nominations, with organisers promising a celebration of the next generation of British farmers.
Now in its third year, the awards will return to Cannon Hall Farm, home of the 2023 British Farming Awards Content Creator of the Year, on September 19.
Sponsored by Massey Feeds and Harpers Feeds, the awards aim to recognise the contributions of young people across the industry, from livestock handling to innovation and fundraising. The awards were launched at LAMMA 2026 by Kaleb Cooper and Tom Pemberton, both of whom have played pivotal roles in supporting young farmers. Mr Pemberton hosted the last two ceremonies, while Mr Cooper launched his own award last year – the Kaleb Cooper New Entrant Award.
Speaking at the launch, Mr Cooper said: “This is a great honour, to be involved with this but more importantly standing on this stage with you guys here. Hopefully it will be bigger and better than last year, and we’re going to keep growing this.
“Since I was on Clarkson’s Farm for the first time in series one, I made myself a goal, and that was to try and get as many young people into this industry as possible as I genuinely believe it’s the best job in the world. These youngsters are working incredibly hard, and they need rewarding, and this is a great place to do that.”
This year’s awards have expanded to 12 categories, up from eight in 2025, recognising achievements from young handlers and farm workers to fundraising heroes, innovators, and future farmers. Categories include the Junior Young Handler of the Year, Young Innovator of the Year, and the Farmers Guardian Young Farming Hero, among others.
