Four Powys care home workers have been recognised for their outstanding contribution during the past year.

The 13th Shaw healthcare national awards ceremony is being held this year at The Tortworth Court Hotel in Gloucestershire and will be hosted by Paul Sinha, best known for his regular appearances on ITV’s The Chase.

Three nominees are based in Powys across three different care facilities - Trenewydd in Ger Y Tarrell near Brecon, Greenhill in Crickhowell and Wylesfield in Llandrindod Wells, all of which are operated by Shaw on behalf of Powys County Council.

Rebecca Lloyd, activity champion at Trenewydd, has been nominated by her colleagues and residents’ family members for the ‘Wellness/Happiness/Kindness’ award. This award is given to a staff member who has spread joy and happiness as they strive to improve the overall wellbeing of residents.
