A man from Llandrindod Wells and his mother are walking 136 miles along the River Wye to raise awareness about pollution in the river.
Josh Roderick and his mother Rachel Freeman are taking on the Wye Valley Walk from the river’s source at Plynlimon to Chepstow.
The pair are carrying out the challenge during the current hot weather to highlight the worsening condition of the River Wye.
Along the route, they are testing water samples each day using a citizen science kit and adding the results to national databases monitoring river health.
The River Wye has faced growing concern in recent years over pollution, algal blooms and sewage discharges.

Rachel, who is from Malvern, said the walk was about drawing attention to the damage being caused to rivers across the country.
“"Walking in this intense heat is challenging, but it drives home exactly what we are fighting for,” she said.
“Our rivers are suffocating under a wave of pollution, and rising temperatures are accelerating the toxic algal blooms that strip life from the water. We are walking these 136 miles because we can't just stand by and watch the Wye, and rivers like her across the country, turn into ecological dead zones.”
Rachel is completing the walk wearing a wedding dress, which she said symbolises her love for the river. The dress will also feature in a community performance piece she is directing later this year called River Lamentations.
Josh thanked people who had supported them during the challenge.
"A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. I wish the rivers didn’t need us to campaign for them but this feels important to me as it will affect future generations,” he said.
The pair have been speaking to walkers, residents and environmental campaigners during the journey.
