NPTC students achieve more than 99% pass rate

Students at NPTC Group of Colleges are celebrating an overall pass rate of more than 99 per cent in this year’s A-level and vocational qualification results.

More than half of students achieved A* to B grades, while more than a quarter secured A* to A grades. More than three quarters achieved A* to C.

Students at Brecon Beacons College also achieved top grades in vocational subjects, with Level 3 Childcare, Health and Social Care and Business students securing places at universities, schools and nurseries.

Students on the college’s Gifted and Talented Excellence (GATE) programme achieved particularly strong results, with 44 per cent gaining A* grades, 88 per cent achieving A* to A and all students securing A* to B grades.

Across vocational qualifications, students achieved 145 Distinction* and Distinction grades, equivalent to A*/A grades at A-level.

A total of 397 learners also achieved the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales qualification, with 87 per cent gaining grades between A* and C.

NPTC Group chief executive Mark Dacey congratulated students and staff on their results.

He said: “These results represent months, and in many cases years, of hard work, determination and ambition.

“Whether our learners are progressing to university, starting an apprenticeship, beginning a career or continuing their education, they should be incredibly proud of what they have accomplished.

"I would also like to thank our dedicated staff who have supported and encouraged students throughout their journey. Together, they have created a culture where students are inspired to achieve their very best.

"We know that results day is not the end of the journey, it is the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Whatever path our learners choose next, we are proud to have been part of their success and look forward to seeing what they go on to achieve."
