Keen athletes in the Llanwrtyd Wells area will be preparing for the upcoming events in September.

Following the World Bog Snorkelling Championships on the August Bank Holiday Weekend, Green Events organisation are getting ready for the upcoming Devil's Staircase Ultra Trail Run, and Mid Wales' 4 Day Walking Festival.

Devil's Staircase Ultra Trail Run will take place on Saturday, September 16.

It is the second year of Llanwrtyd's new 50K ultra trail run that takes in the Devil's Staircase, Llyn Brianne and the beautiful Abergwesyn Valley. 

The race will start at 9am.

The following week will see the Mid Wales 4 Day Walking Festival take place from Wednesday, September 20, to Saturday, September, 23.

Running since 1980, this event attracts entrants from all over the world.

These none competitive walks offer a great social opportunity for like minded people, some interesting and technically challenging walks and some of the finest scenery in Great Britain.

Each day there are walks available with way-marked routes of 12 or 20 miles.

There is entertainment each night and the week culminates with the "Blister Ball" on the Saturday night with live music at the Neuadd Arms Hotel.

Entry to the way-marked walks is £10 per day or £35 for all four days.

The Station Tea and Llanwrtyd in Bloom prize giving will take place on Sunday afternoon 17th September at 3pm in Victoria Hall.

Funds raised are used to support the planting at Llanwrtyd Wells rail station and around the town.

The tea includes hot and cold drinks, savouries and cakes, £3.50 per person.
