A PRESTEIGNE woman was visited by the vice chair of Powys County Council on her 100th birthday.
Joan Ray celebrated the landmark occasion last Wednesday (May 24).
To help her mark the special occasion, Cllr Beverley Baynham presented her with a card and bouquet of flowers at Prestemede Care Home.
Joan, who moved to Presteigne with her husband Dennis in 1966 from Birmingham, worked for the Bleddfa Trust for many years. Her two sons, Bernard and Alan, organised a tea party to celebrate Joan’s birthday. Joan also received a card congratulating her on reaching 100 from the Queen.
