The community of New Radnor has shared its thoughts on why the village needs to restore the Radnor Arms Hotel.

During a Christmas tree sale that took place on Saturday, November 25 the residents spoke of their desire to see the Radnor Arms Hotel back up and running again.

The villagers continue to fundraise to save its last village pub and will shortly open a Share Offer. Monies raised will serve to match fund (by £200,000) a grant of £240,000 offered by the Community Ownership Fund.

The community will then be able to purchase the Radnor Arms Hotel from the interim owner, who bought the pub last year at auction.  The next phase of development will be to renovate and open the two bars to start trading, whilst the people who buy shares will decide on the full redevelopment of the pub for the community after they become shareholders.

They will also be launching a New Radnor and Radnor Valley calendar on December 1 in the Hub in New Radnor, with photographs of Radnorshire.
