Tour of Britain Cycling - Saturday, 6 September
Some of the world’s top cyclists will be rolling into town in the Lloyds Tour of Britain this Saturday, when Stage 5 takes riders on a spin around Monmouthshire and twice up the legendary Tumble climb.
Fans will be out in force at the roadside, not least because Welsh cycling superstar Geraint Thomas is making his last appearance in a professional race, after a stellar 19-year senior career.
The riders face an 83-mile route from the start at Pontypool Park to a summit finish atop The Tumble above Abergavenny.
Young British talent, Matt Brennan won stage 3 of the Tour of Britain earlier this week.
Builth Wells Antiques Fair
This weekend the Builth Wells Antiques Fair takes place at The Royal Welsh Showground. This event is now part of the International Antiques & Collectors Fairs.
The fair will showcase a range of antiques, vintage treasures, and collectibles, bringing together top dealers from across the UK and beyond.
Llandovery Mayor launches town’s new Real Farmers Market
Llandovery Farmers Market has become the first in Wales to earn official ‘Real Farmers Market’ status, and the achievement will be celebrated at a special event on Saturday, September 6.
The market will run from 10am to 2pm in the town’s historic Market Square, with an official launch by the Mayor of Llandovery, Cllr Huw Thomas, at 11am. Live music from Wolf Magdala will provide entertainment throughout the day.
Rali Ceredigion heads for Elan Valley
The eagerly anticipated JDS Machinery Rali Ceredigion hosts the penultimate rounds of the pulsating FIA European Rally Championship and the Probite British Rally Championship this weekend.
The three-stage loop includes the new Cwm Elan test which takes crews through the iconic Elan Valley followed by the mammoth 33km-long Y Diafol stage, which includes the Devil’s Staircase and then the all-new Mydroilyn stage.

Builth Bike Bash 2025 - Sunday, 7 September
The annual Builth Bike Bash event will take place this Sunday at The Groe in Builth Wells.
This year as part of the Beicio Cymru celebrations there is a #Ride with G theme. Geraint Thomas is riding his last professional race at the 2025 Tour of Britain, which is finishing in Cardiff on Sunday. In honour of that, participants of the Bike Bash will be trying to ride three times the distance that Geraint rides during this tour. (1653 miles).
Why not go along and contribute a few laps?
11-12 noon : 1/2 mile laps for younger and wobbly cyclists
12 noon to 4pm : 1 mile laps for everyone

TOY, TRAIN & COLLECTOR'S FAIR
A Toy, Train & Collector’s Fair is taking place in Brecon Market Hall on Saturday, 6 September, from 10.30am to 2.30pm. Admission £3, under 16’s go free!
