ALL three scheduled matches in the Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South) were postponed at the weekend but there was some action in the Emrys Morgan Cup.

Builth Wells Reserves and Knighton Town Reserves were in action and suffered mixed fortunes.

Knighton made one of the longest journeys of the day, travelling to Cilgerran Rovers and their visit to West Wales proved worthwhile. On a pitch, barely playable due to the heavy rain, an early goal from Billy Hyett earned Knighton a 1-0 victory and another away tie at either Llandysul or Borth United Reserves in round three.

Builth Wells Reserves however mad a second round exit from the competition beaten 4-0 at Meifod where Rob Evans (2), Nick Davies and Hywel Bennett netted for the home side.

In the only other tie to survive the weather, Llanrhystud triumphed 3-1 at Kerry Reserves with two goals from Liam Lewis and one from ex-Knighton Town mifielder, Kyle Chillery.
