SOUTH Powys Junior Football League are really proud to have fielded three teams, U12, U14 and U16, at the recent Inter League Tournament held in Aberystwyth on April 28.

It was the first time that these county level teams had formed to compete against other leagues affiliated to the Central Wales Football Association. It was a great team effort from many clubs within the league, coming together to give the young players unique opportunities to play against other league teams at the tournament.

The coaches were from Llangynidr, Crickhowell, Brecon Corries and Rhayader and training facilities at Talgarth and Corries Rich Field were used.

Admin support Clair Jones said: “It was a privilege to watch these players once opponents from all over the county, come together as teammates.

“Great support from all involved and a huge thank you to all the league clubs who contributed in many ways.”

On the day it was mixed fortunes, U12 had some standout performances but lost all three matches, U14 came joint second overall and U16 drew two matches and lost one.

All coaches were really proud of the players’ performances and it was a great achievement by the South Powys League.
