THE ladies of Llandrindod Wells Golf Club celebrated their annual prize giving recently with a very special guest.
Maisie Powell, who recently celebrated her 100 birthday has been a life long member of the golf club. In the year 2000 Maisie introduced a new cup and this year, her Centenary year, she presented her daughter, Frankie Wakeford, with that cup.
The ladies had a very enjoyable Christmas meal followed by a visit from Santa and a round up of all the years prizes. The winter league has already commenced and members look forward to a new golfing season under he Captaincy of Heidi Owen.
The winners were:- Lady President and Sells Shield Par - Marion Phillips; retiring Captain and Club Champion 2015 - Angie Jones; Newly appointed Ladies Captain and Petra Sayce Par Cup winner– Heidi Owen; Past Captain and Bronze Champion 2015 and most Improved Golfer – Lyn Evans; Past Captain and Millennium Cup Winner – Frankie Wakeford; Lady President and Wyn Jones putter winner – June Williams; Lady Vice Captain and Beginners Cup Winner – Eve Price and Sylvia Laws; Past Captain & John Dives knock out winner – Sue Margrave-Jones.
