A new programme is inviting local people to explore Bannau Brycheiniog with confidence.
Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and Sport England’s Movement Fund, the initiative offers free, guided outdoor walks led by qualified Mountain Leader Ingrid Lohr.
Organised by Guided Outdoor Adventuring CIC in partnership with Guided Outdoor Adventures, the programme targets beginners, over-50s, and anyone returning to activity after illness or isolation. It aims to tackle what founder Julia Hartley calls the “Confidence Gap” - the barrier that stops people enjoying the mountains alone.
Ms Hartley said: “The Brecon Beacons are stunning, but they can feel intimidating if you don’t know where to go or what’s safe.
“This funding allows us to provide professional guidance and supportive groups so people can enjoy these mountains with confidence.”
