A Christmas film shot in Hay-on-Wye has got a release date.

In the summer, American film company Hallmark - famous for its festive romance films - descended on the town to shoot a story set in Hay-on-Wye.

Now, it has been confirmed that Double Booked for the Holidays, written by Brisa Carleton, will be available as part of Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas lineup, and will be premiere on Sunday, November 22nd.

The film stars Rachael Leigh Cook, Owain Yeoman and Stephen Hagan and follows two identical twins who get a last-minute chance to spend a week running a bookshop in the town of books, Hay-on-Wye. The bookshop used was Green Ink.

Our reporter, Jack Strange, got to visit the set and be an extra in the film. He has also written his own Hallmark inspired story set in the town of books, published in September 2024.
