A local mobile bar business is celebrating after winning two awards at the Best of Mid Wales Business Awards.
The Thirsty Shepherdess was named winner of the Best Pub & Bar and Business Specialist categories at the awards ceremony, held at the beginning of July.
Run by lifelong friends Shelley Ransome and Martine Arrowsmith, the business launched in 2023 and provides mobile bar services for weddings, parties and events across Powys, Herefordshire and beyond.
The business operates from a converted horsebox bar, alongside a rustic indoor bar setup, offering a variety of options for weddings, festivals and private celebrations.
The pair offer a range of mobile bar packages, including cocktail and prosecco bars, for events across the region.

Shelley and Martine said the awards recognised the time and effort they have put into growing the business over the past two years.
“Since launching our business in 2023 we have ploughed an immense amount of time and energy into making it a success,” they said.
“Having our hard work recognised by winning these awards has made all the long hours, late nights, blood, sweat and tears worthwhile.
“We really can’t thank everyone enough for their support in making our business what it is today.”

The pair have also expanded their offering with the launch of their mobile catering business, The Hungry Farmer.

They said this year had been their busiest yet, with both businesses involved in a number of events across the region.
Coming from farming backgrounds, Shelley and Martine said they particularly enjoy supporting agricultural events and have several more events planned.
The Thirsty Shepherdess has grown through recommendations from customers and its focus on creating a personal service for each event.
The pair added: “We couldn’t have done any of it without the support of our customers.”
