For the first time, musical theatre sensation Welsh of the West End will perform in Llandrindod Wells this December.

The group’s 2025 Christmas tour concludes at The Albert Hall on Sunday, December 21, where audiences can expect a mix of Christmas classics and musical theatre favourites. Performers include stars from shows such as Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera and Wicked.

Welsh of the West End was formed in March 2020 during the first Covid lockdown by performer and TV and radio presenter Steffan Hughes, who is from North Wales. With most performers unable to work due to restrictions, Hughes assembled a group of Welsh talent to create a virtual performance of Seasons of Love from Rent. The video quickly went viral, attracting more than one million views and paving the way for further projects.

Since then, the group has gained international recognition, amassing more than 20 million views online and reaching the live semi-finals of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent. They have performed at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, London Palladium and Wales Millennium Centre, headlined the National Eisteddfod of Wales and the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, and partnered with the Welsh Rugby Union to entertain crowds of up to 75,000 at international matches.

The Llandrindod Wells performance marks the final stop on a Christmas tour that also visits Wrexham, Bangor, Aberystwyth, Swansea and Cardiff.

More information and links to buy tickets are available from welshofthewestend.com and thealberthall.co.uk, making it an ideal festive outing or early Christmas gift.

The show will take place at The Albert Hall in the centre of Llandrindod Wells. The Victorian theatre, originally built as a church hall, was transformed in 1922 and has long served as both a community hub and a venue for live performances.
