A fun-filled evening of skittles and supper was enjoyed at the Royal British Legion in Llandrindod Wells recently, where 12 teams representing various Women’s Institutes from across the Powys Radnor Federation gathered for a friendly competition.

With plenty of laughter - and bowls going in every direction - teams competed enthusiastically, with some impressive (and some less so!) attempts at toppling the skittles. The eventual winners were Beauty and the Beast, otherwise known as Chris Phillips of Rhayader and Mel Ensor of Nantmel.

A lively play-off was also needed to determine who would take home the honour of coming last, as two determined teams refused to give up easily. After three extra rounds, Mickey and Minnie Mouse—Elizabeth Howden of Rhayader and Sheila Weale of Howey -claimed the title.

Chocolate medals were awarded to the winners, while the losers were consoled with packets of Skittles sweets.

Dave and Sandy from the Royal British Legion were thanked with a box of chocolates - fittingly presented on National Chocolate Day - for their help in guiding players through the game and keeping score throughout the evening.
