Brecon Corries kicked-off their preparations for the upcoming Floodlighting and Electrical Services Ardal South East campaign by welcoming Coed Eva Athletic to the Rich Field on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts recorded an impressive 10-1 victory in their first pre-season fixture.

The Corries opened the scoring in the seventh minutes when Joel Evans cooly finished Craig Evans' cross from close range.

However, the Gwent Premier League visitors equalised from a corner within two minutes and appeared to be back in the proceedings.

The Corries were back in front moments from the restart as Craig Evans netted his first of the afternoon after catching the Coed Athletic defence cold.

The same player doubled his tally in the 17th minute when he found himself in space 20 yards from goal before firing a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Craig Evans went on to complete a first-half hat-trick six minutes later as he drove home a loose ball on the edge of the penalty area to hand a healthy 4-1 advantage at the conclusion of the opening 30 minute period.

Damien Daniels made a number of changes during the second period as he looked to give as many players as possible the opportunity to experience some game time in this maiden outing of the campaign.

Andrew Hamnett added his name to the scoresheet after 50 minutes when he converted from a Joel Evans pull back on the byline before the provider turned goalscorer three minutes later with his second of the afternoon after being set-up by Paul Keddle.

Joel Evans completed his treble in the 58th minute when he was on hand to convert a Gethin Thomas cross before Hamnett fired home his second of the afternoon after the visitors failed to clear the ball from their penalty area.

The Corries concluded the scoring with two further goals in the final 30 minute period of the match.

Austin Mellor's 68th minute from the left was chested down by Nathan Williams into the path of Craig Evans to finish from the edge of the penalty area before netting his fifth goal of the afternoon eight minutes later after finding the net at the second attempt having initially been denied by the Coed Eva Athletic goalkeeper.
