CRICKHOWELL FC failed to lift the Gwent Amateur Cup after suffering a 5-0 defeat in the final to Abertillery Excelsiors.

Gwent County Division Three side Crickhowell knew they would face a stern challenge in the final against Abertillery Excelsiors who have finished second in division two this year.

Crickhowell, who finished fourth in division three, were well supported at Abergavenny’s Pen y Pound stadium in Saturday’s final but it wasn’t enough to see off the Abertillery side who excelled themselves on the day.
