THE new winter league programme opened up on Sunday November 6 at Llandrindod Wells Golf Club.

Phil Evans, Mark Heath and Rhys Cadwallader Jones taking a very healthy 44 registrations, this is a very encouraging for the first game of the season.

With the golf course set up in superb condition for this time of the year and with the rough all cut down and now under control, it made ideal conditions for good scoring, this was reflected in the results.

In first place was Nigel Lewis and Mathew Duggan on 47 points winning on the back nine from Oliver Douglas and Dave Richardson also 47points. In third place was Tony Price (Captain) and Chris o Connell with 44 points and Michael Foley and Ted Booth on 43 points in fourth position.

It appears that last year’s winner of the winter league is still the strongest player in the league as he is currently holding up the entire field in last place.
