Residents in Brecon and the surrounding area are being invited to attend Brecon’s Big Advice Day on Friday, 30 October, bringing together a wide range of organisations under one roof to offer free information, support and advice.

The event will take place at The Workman’s Club, Watergate, Brecon, LD3 9AN, from 10.30am until 12.30pm and is being organised by local Labour councillors in partnership with public services, housing providers, charities and community organisations.

The aim is to make it easier for people to access help by bringing together key services in one convenient location. Residents will be able to speak directly with representatives from organisations including Powys County Council, the Department for Work and Pensions, Wales & West Housing, Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, PAVO, Accessibility Powys, Warm Wales, Brecon Volunteer Bureau and many more.

Councillor Matthew Dorrance said: “Brecon’s Big Advice Day is all about making help accessible. Whether people have questions about housing, benefits, cost of living support, community services, volunteering opportunities or other local issues, they can come along and speak directly with the organisations that can help.

“We know that navigating services can sometimes be difficult, so bringing everyone together in one place makes it easier for residents to get answers, support and advice.

“Everyone is welcome, and we would encourage anyone who thinks they might benefit from attending to come along and have a chat.”

The event will also feature free tea and coffee, while Powys Flying Start will provide activities for children, making it easier for families to attend.

Admission is free and no appointment is required.
