Cwmdu Campsite has been named as the best campsite in Mid Wales for 2025.
The campsite has now taken the crown for the second year in a row at the Campsites.co.uk Camping and Glamping Awards.
Located in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog, with walks into the Black Mountains directly from the site, Cwmdu is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
Guests have access to a children’s play area, a pop-up café, and a spa, while a local café and pub are just 300 metres from the campsite.
The campsite has a mix of grass and hardstanding pitches, with optional electric 6 amp hook up for tents and 10 amp for tourers. There are also dog-friendly log glamping pods available.
The site is run by couple Sarah and Calvin, and was established in 1964 by Sarah’s grandparents, Olive and Eric.
The family-run campsite has earned an impressive 4.87-star rating on its travel listing, with 98 per cent of visitors saying they would recommend the site. Guests have left glowing reviews, describing it as “an utterly stunning location for a campsite” and praising the staff, saying: “Their love and passion for the site really comes through.”
Speaking about the award win, Sarah and Calvin said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won this prestigious award three years running. We’d like to say a huge thank you, from our family, to everyone who stayed with us, stopped in for coffee, pizza, or to use our shop, to everyone who reviewed us, supported us, and helped us make this such a welcoming and friendly place to be.
“Cwmdu and Crickhowell is such a warm community to be a part of, and our guests absolutely feel this when they come and visit. “
Lakeside Caravan Park, next to Llangorse Lake, was named runner-up in Mid Wales.
